Local Wyoming Fly Fishing Guides you can Trust!

Dean Schaff

Head Guide/Owner

After relocating to Wyoming in 1994, Dean Schaff quickly discovered his passion for fly fishing. During his years at the University of Wyoming, he sharpened his skills by exploring High Plains lakes, local rivers, and the Upper North Platte. After graduation, he moved to Worland to begin his teaching career. During this time, he spent countless hours fishing the streams, lakes, and rivers of the Bighorn Mountains, including the famous Bighorn River in Thermopolis.

While living in Worland, Dean also taught fly fishing at the Wyoming Boys’ School. In addition, he joined students on a variety of outdoor adventures, further deepening his connection to the sport. Then, in 2004, he relocated to Lander and expanded his teaching and coaching roles, adding physical education and outdoor education classes. At the same time, he continued exploring the diverse waterways of Fremont County and the surrounding areas.

In 2006, Dean’s fishing journey shifted again. He began floating the Bighorn, Green, and New Fork Rivers, gaining a new perspective on the water. This introduction to drift-boat fishing sparked a deep love for both floating and teaching others. Eventually, this passion inspired him to start a business focused on sharing fly fishing skills and his enthusiasm for time on the water.

Today, Dean’s background as an angler, educator, and coach shapes every trip he guides. His goal is simple: to share his knowledge and help others discover the joy, challenge, and beauty of fly fishing in Wyoming.
