Bighorn River, Thermopolis Wyoming
June 21st, 2023
Flow: 4484.4 cfs (expected to increase today to 5500 cfs)
Current Report
The current flow and weather have made fishing tough as of late. The key to the game is being prepared. In the last couple weeks we have seen the flows change several times and several severe thunderstorms that have affected the water clarity. With that being said, fishing is good with some days being great. You have to be able to adjust to conditions. Be ready to change depths, flies, and techniques to pick up more fish. There has been some dry fly action throughout the day; although, it is not consistent yet. Most fish are being caught on deep nymph setups with lots of weight. The streamer bit has been very good at times and if you enjoy this style of fishing this is your opportunity. Big water is moving fish to the banks and the big fish are hungry.
