Wind River Range

The Wind River Range is a mountain range located in western Wyoming, in the United States. It is part of the Rocky Mountains and is known for its stunning alpine scenery, numerous lakes, and challenging hiking and climbing routes.

The range spans over 100 miles from north to south and contains more than 40 peaks that exceed 12,000 feet in elevation, including Gannett Peak, which is the highest point in Wyoming at 13,804 feet.

The Wind River Range is also home to several glaciers, including the Dinwoody Glacier, which is one of the largest in the contiguous United States. The range is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, offering activities such as backpacking, mountaineering, rock climbing, fishing, and wildlife viewing.

The range is also significant to the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho tribes, who consider the area to be a sacred place and have a long history of using the range for hunting and gathering.
